Course Overview: Family advice, peer choices, social expectations, and ideas about prestige can strongly influence a young person’s future. These influences may be well intentioned, yet they do not always reflect the learner’s strengths, values, resources, or aspirations.

Learners practise respectful communication, manage comparison and criticism, seek balanced guidance, and build support around an independently considered study or career direction.

Learning Outcomes:

• identify different sources of pressure that affect future decisions
• distinguish between helpful guidance and unhealthy pressure
• communicate their study or career interests respectfully
• avoid choosing a path only because of friends, status, or social expectations
• create a family and future conversation guide for My Future Blueprint™
